Linwood Community Gardens
About
Linwood community gardens warmly welcomes volunteers and visitors to the gardens. The gardens provide a place to connect with others, share skills, learn and grow amongst the greenery. The focus of the garden is to build a more connected community and create resilience for the future. The gardens start with a sensory herb garden and follow onto shared community plots where kai is grown to be shared. There are also allotment style plots where volunteers can grow their own produce in exchange for some voluntary work hours. We welcome all to come along to our weekly Tuesday morning working bee and get involved in the garden. The Linwood Community Gardens are part of the Linwood Resource Centre (Te Wahre Taonga o Nga iwi Katoa). The center comprises a Community House - which provides support, education and a venue for local groups - and the Linwood Mens/Community Shed. The center provides a place for the people of Linwood to network, build community and learn valuable life skills.
